My Counselling/Psychotherapy Story
Experienced. Certified. Supportive.
My main therapeutic approach is Adlerian or Individual Psychotherapy, which is mainly psychodynamic. That means that while working together we will explore your values (what you consider important in your life), we will analyse the influences from the past on your core beliefs, we will establish goals for the future and we will explore your internal resources in a way that encourages positive change. This approach might take time, however we can plan together a brief therapeutic intervention if needed.
Having previous work experience in an NHS (IAPT) service, I often combine my main approach with CBT techniques for clients who are seeking quicker solution to their concerns and want to focus on the present symptoms.
I am also an APT accredited Dialectical Behaviour Therapist.
I am able to integrate Brainspotting techniques in my approach. Brainspotting is a powerful technique, emerging from EMDR,which helps people to recover quickly from traumas.
I am trained and I have experience in working with children by using therapeutic play, art therapy techniques and storytelling through therapeutic stories. I use structured interview and discussions with teens and adolescents above 10 years old.
I offer parenting sessions to families based on Adlerian principles of positive parenting and I have experience in delivering workshops, parenting courses and CPCAB Counselling courses.
